Projects
Over the past three years of vibrant university life, I’ve thrown myself into all kinds of individual and group projects, from volunteering and society leadership to internships and part-time roles. Each experience added a new layer to my personal and professional growth. At Leeds Light Night, I volunteered behind the scenes, helping with event coordination, setup, and general admin tasks. It gave me a valuable peek into the meticulous paperwork and discipline needed to run large-scale public events, the kind of stuff no one sees, but that makes the magic happen. On the society front, I often stepped into leadership roles, directing event delivery and working closely with my team to bring ideas to life. Our flagship event, MonopoLeeds, remains one of my proudest achievements, from the unique theme and buzzing crowd to the pure joy on every guest’s face.
It was, hands down, the most unforgettable day of my uni life.
Beyond societies, my internship at HKPC marked my first real step into the corporate world. I won the Most Innovative Award for a group presentation and even delivered my very first independent business pitch to a local SME owner. Even though the outcome wasn’t perfect, it taught me something priceless: be brave, be prepared, and you won’t miss your chance. Back in the UK, I’ve also been part of the Link to Leeds ambassador team, where I supported both client-facing interactions and actively plan and coordinate internal team socials. It quickly became a second family, a group I could laugh with, grow with, and proudly share my culture with. One of the most memorable moments was organising a Lunar New Year celebration, where I got to introduce meaningful traditions from home and celebrate them with my UK community.
